Opportunities for Ministry

This year to celebrate holidays, birthdays, and other gift giving occasions, consider giving a gift in honor of a special person in your life.
- Honor your local Women of the Church of God president by donating a bicycle for a woman leader traveling to groups in remote areas of Zambia.
- Show your appreciation to someone special by giving a cow that will help sustain a family in Rwanda.
- Need a practical was to teach about giving for your kids. Donate a chicken, duck, or rabbit in the name of your Sundays School or Vacation Bible School.

There are gifts in every price range from $1.00 for chickens to $700.00 for cows. The possibilities are endless. Your gift will not only show your appreciation for a friend, but will change the lives of African families.
The projects listed below encourage the spread of the Gospel while providing for the financial and nutritional needs of families. Read more...

Dear Ones:
The flurry of upcoming holidays are upon us, but I want to invite you to take a moment to reflect on the 2008 Church of God Women’s Convention held this past October in Grand Rapids, MI. In the middle of preparations for two Thanksgiving dinners and a rapidly approaching trip to Kenya and Uganda, I have been reminded through pictures and emails about lives that have been forever changed, including my own, through this gathering. God ordained that particular moment for a specific purpose and time will reveal all that will come of it.
Were you as moved as I was to witness a sea of beautiful faces in all colors and hues, some with less "character lines" than others, who interacted easily with one another? Have you found your “theme song”? If not, accept the challenge of Diana Swoope to keep looking. Neither rain, nor snow, nor hurricanes in Puerto Rico could keep God’s word from coming forth. Who knew that God had already placed a man in our midst that would stand in the gap when Sister Mary Ann Martinez-Garcia could not attend due to a hurricane. Richard Mansfield moved us to tears through laughter; thank you Richard for bringing us this unexpected gift, especially when the call came at the last minute. The Lord rewarded us through the obedience of Elsa Johnson Bass to share her life’s journey to encourage so many in our gathering. Jeannette Flynn taught us much and challenged our “strange herd" who gathered eager to learn. This entire experience was then woven together with the threads of relationships, old, new; restored and renewed through challenging conferences, and beautifully finished with Spirit-filled worship led by Mandy Bohm and her team.
Have you shared your experience with others? If you were unable to attend, please take advantage of ordering the service DVD’s and conference CD’s. You will not be disappointed. I continue to be encouraged and challenged to dream for myself…for you….and for this ministry. Thank you for being a part of such a wonderful life-transforming experience. I pray God’s special blessings upon you and yours this season. And I leave you with this challenge to “expect the favor of the Lord!”
Blessings!
